School - other curriculum links

Citizenship: Introduce the class to the United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child and lead a discussion about children's rights. Explore the Discipline and Punishment theme and ask the class to think about the way rules are enforced in schools today. This links with Scheme of Work, Citizenship Keystage 1 and 2, Unit 7 and 8.

Science: Explore the concepts of health and growth using the theme School Dinners, by comparing the nutritional value of school dinners of the past with the present. You may wish to then ask the class to plan a healthy school meal. This links with Scheme of Work, Science Keystage 1 and 2, Unit 2A.
